Two from Mumbai Metropolitan Region share 3rd rank in CA Final exam
The CA Final exam was held in May 2024. While 1,16,072 candidates had appeared for the exam, only 20,446 students successfully qualified the exam.

With the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) announcing the result of CA Final exam on Thursday, Kiran Rajendra Singh Manral from Mumbai and Ghilman Saalim Ansari from Navi Mumbai have emerged as the shared holders of the third rank nationally. Both Manral and Ansari have scored 477/600 marks.
Manral and Ansari are both students of the H R College in Mumbai and were expecting to be among the top 50 rank holders. However, for the two youngsters, who pursued CA simultaneously while studying B Com, emerging as the joint holders of the third rank is more than just great news. This was the first attempt for both Manral and Ansari.
‘My sister was sure’
Manral said, “My mother always asks me to do my best in whatever I am doing and when I decided to pursue Commerce, CA was the best career option.” Manral revealed that she would study for long hours each day along with her elder sister who too is preparing for CA.
“My sister was sure of me getting a good score in my first attempt,” said Manral, who is now looking forward to going back to her favourite pass-time activity – reading novels. “When preparing for competitive exams, one has to leave a lot of distractions, especially social media. I am glad I was a part of a friends’ circle where everyone is focused on studies and the competitive atmosphere encouraged me to study,” said Manral.
Acing it with Pomodoro
For Ansari, however, it was the Pomodoro time management technique of studying that helped him retain focus. The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that uses a timer to break work into intervals called “pomodoros”, separated by short breaks. “I would study for 12 to 14 hours a day but would take a five-minute break every hour,” said Ansari.
He added there are a lot of distractions in today’s time but what helped him to retain focus was, “I told myself that I have no option but to clear the exam. So, my objective for any day would be to study as much as I can.” Ansari is looking forward to taking up a job now after finishing the articleship. He will decide later if he wants to pursue higher education.
