Man held for raping minor

After taking the victim to the guesthouse Doshi allegedly raped her and an hour later the victim was brought to her house by an auto rickshaw driver who had seen her weeping in the locality. “In the meanwhile the victim’s friend,who suspected foul play,informed her parents about the incident who in turn approached the victim’s family and they all came to the police station,” said Gawande.

The police enquired with the rickshaw driver who had brought the girl home and were told that the girl had been found at Madh Island. The police then went to the guest house at Madh and found from the guest register that the accused had written his first name there. “As Pritesh was known in the police records as a chain snatcher we suspected a link and showed his photograph to the victim who confirmed that he was the person who had kidnapped and raped her. Doshi was traced and arrested on Tuesday night. He has confessed to his crime,” added Gawande.

Police sources confirmed that Doshi is the same man who was wanted for the kidnap of a Bollywood actor’s daughter. Gawande added,“Doshi,a resident of SV Road in Malad is the only son of an estate agent and has no fixed employment but helps out his father occasionally.”
