Man gets 3 yrs for stalking, sexual harassing minor

A special court on Thursday sentenced a man to three years in jail for stalking and sexually harassing a minor girl, who was his neighbour. The man, in his 40s, was arrested by the police in 2016.

The prosecution had submitted that in May 2016, the police had received a complaint that a 14-year-old girl was stalked by the accused and kissed forcibly. During the trial, it was also claimed that he had made objectionable remarks to the girl.

The court found him guilty under sections related to sexual harassment and stalking of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
