Lilavati Podar beat Don Bosco

The players were selected based on criteria mentioned in the well-known Manchester United Scouting Guidelines.

Akram Khan from St Andrew’s School,Sanath Valladares from Lilavati Podar School,Marc D’Souza from Don Bosco (Matunga) and Ritik Raj Srivasta from Lilavati Podar School (Goalkeeper) were declared as the four Airtel Rising Stars in the Mumbai leg of the U-16 soccer talent hunt that concluded at the Priyadarshani Park,Nepean Sea Road. The players were selected based on criteria mentioned in the well-known Manchester United Scouting Guidelines.

The final match between Lilavati Podar and Don Bosco ended in a goalless draw and the match went into a penalty shoot-out which Lilavati Podar won 4-2. Sanath Valladares,Apurva Amberkar,Ahmed Lakhani and Zoraius Kamdin converted their spot-kicks for the winning team. As a result,Lilavati Podar won the 2nd edition of the Mumbai Leg and was awarded with cash prize of Rs 30,000 with trophy,while Don Bosco was awarded Rs 20,000 with trophy.

The selected players from Mumbai will join other talents from Bangalore,Kolkata,Delhi,Guwahati,Goa and Hyderabad to participate in a five-day final selection trial scheduled to take place in Goa. Ritik Raj Srivasta who was selected as the goalkeeper,will have to compete against six other keepers,following which two will be shortlisted for the final selection trial.
