Leading districts to be honoured today

Saraswat Co-operative Bank Ltd is the main sponsor of ‘Loksatta District Index’ and is ‘powered by partners’ Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) and CIDCO. The ‘knowledge partner’ is Gokhale Institute, Pune.

The performance of the districts would be presented through the report, which is prepared by compiling and analysing the statistics of the districts which are based on various criteria such as social, economic, infrastructure as well as health, education, law and order, industrial status and power supply in the districts.

This is the second year of the report. All the districts of the state have been divided into four groups on development parameters without weighing on the scale of developed or under-developed districts. The best district in each group will be honored at the function as well as districts with outstanding performance. The districts which have performed significantly in certain development criteria will also be honored from this year.
