Jubilation in Ajit Pawar camp as EC order recognises his party as real NCP
As the EC order was announced, a cheer of jubilation swept Ajit Pawar supporters outside the party offices, where party workers burst firecrackers, raised slogans and distributed sweets.

Recognition of his faction by the Election Commission as the real Nationalist Congress Party has come as a shot in the arm for Deputy CM Ajit Pawar ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha polls.
The EC order allotting the party’s poll symbol and name to Ajit-led NCP has also come as an opportunity for the party to further strengthen its organisational structure in the state and attract the remaining MLAs and MPs who are still with Sharad Pawar-led NCP.
As the EC order was announced, a cheer of jubilation swept Ajit Pawar supporters outside the party offices, where party workers burst firecrackers, raised slogans and distributed sweets.
While the rebel NCP faction termed it as victory of the truth, Dy CM Ajit Pawar said that he accepted the EC order in full humility, acknowledging that the party has been entrusted with more responsibility now.

“Certain developments in our party had prompted us to approach the Election Commission to seek justice. Both sides placed their arguments, but a majority is vital in democracy. Finally, the verdict on the party name and symbol is in our favour. ECI accepted submissions made by our counsels and we thank ECI,” Ajit Pawar said.
“Victory of truth! Victory of democracy!” said NCP State President MP Sunil Tatkare welcoming the EC decision.
Congratulating his party colleagues, NCP MLA Dhananjay Munde said, “The clock as well as the time belongs to Ajit Dada only. I welcome EC’s decision which proves that our decision to rebel and join the BJP-Sena government was not wrong.”
As per the political observer, the order is not only a shot in the arm for Ajit Pawar-led NCP MLAS and cabinet ministers, but is also a morale booster for the grassroot cadre of the faction and supporters of the leaders. This may also encourage other leaders and functionaries from Sharad Pawar camp to switch sides ahead of LS polls.
“The order has not only proved that their faction is legit, but has also increased Ajit faction’s negotiation power in the current seat sharing talks with ruling MahaYuti (grand alliance for LS and Vidhan Sabha polls),” a political observer said. The disqualification petition filed against Ajit Pawar faction MLAs is already filed with state assembly speaker Rahul NArvekar who is hearing it and will likely adjudicate it.
This leaves the Sharad Pawar faction the choice to approach the Supreme Court against the EC ruling.
