In the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) - Advanced results declared on Sunday, Mumbai boy Yuvraj Gupta has emerged as Maharashtra topper with a score of 315 With all India rank 13, Gupta is more than happy that he will be able to take admission to Computer Science Engineering at IIT-Bombay, his dream course. Residents of Kandivali, Gupta family had shifted base to Andheri so that it will be convenient for Yuvraj to attend Narayana e-Techno School in Marol where he prepared for the JEE-Advanced. “Past two years have been extensively about studies alone,” said Yuvraj. Son of doctor couple, Yuvraj was always inclined towards Mathematics and Physics. “Since childhood all the extra-curricular reading that he has done is all about science, astronomy etc. He was not interested in Biology,” said Dr Anu Gupta, a dentist. Yuvraj has been playing cricket and football. But past two years it has been all about studying for JEE. “I would study for 12 to 15 hours a day. Break time chit chat with a group of friends from the institute was the only breather. But it has been really refreshing,” said Yuvraj who gives credit for his achievement to his teachers and wants to encourage students preparing for the competitive exams to ask as many questions as possible. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati declared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2023 results on Sunday. With a considerable increase in qualifying cut-off marks across categories, a total of 43,773 out of 1,80,372 candidates cleared the entrance test for admission to undergraduate programmes in 23 IITs across the country. With an overall score of 341/360, Vavilala Chidvilas Reddy from Hyderabad zone has topped the JEE -Advanced this year. This year’s girl topper is also from Hyderabad zone - Nayakanti Naga Bhavya Sree with overall score of 298 From IIT Bombay zone which covers Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and Karnataka, a total of 31,788 candidates had registered for the JEE-Advanced. Out of these, 29,758 candidates appeared for the exam and 7,957 have qualified for admission to IITs. This includes 1,330 girls.
