Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, who was supposed to appear before the Mumbai police at 10 am on Thursday in connection with a Rs 252-crore drug case, has not appeared thus far, officials said.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai police issued a summons to Orry, following disclosures by Mohammed Salim Shaikh, alias Lavish, who was recently deported from Dubai in connection with several narcotics cases.

Lavish told the police that their cartel, headed by fugitive Salim Dola, had Bollywood celebrities attending drug-fuelled parties and named Orry as one of the persons linked to them.

“We have called him to record his statement in connection with the allegations. Depending on what evidence is found, the future course of action will be decided,” an official said.

In March, Orry was booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly consuming liquor in Katra town, which acts as a base camp for pilgrims proceeding for darshan at the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in the Trikuta Hills. The matter came to light after some photographs went viral on social media, causing resentment in the town.

However, by the time the police swung into action, the accused had already left the hotel and the town, sources said.
