The prosecution since appealed in the Bombay High Court, and the sessions court issued production warrants on August 29. Sabahuddin will be brought to Mumbai in a few days, sources said.

Susairaj said I screamed,neighbour ‘didn’t hear’

A witness today contradicted a claim by Maria Susairaj, prime accused in the murder of Synergy Adlabs creative head Neeraj Grover, that she had screamed loudly when her fiance Emile Jerome had allegedly hacked Grover to death in a fit of rage. The witness, who lived in a building 30 metres from Susairaj’s,told the court he had heard no screams. “The window of my house faces that of Susairaj’s house. I heard no noise from her place,” the witness told the court. The court is now in the final leg of the trial. “Nearly all crucial witnesses are done. Only seven-eight more witnesses are to be examined. The court aims at concluding the case by October-end,” said public prosecutor R V Kini.
