Heritage gallery opens at CST
A heritage gallery,built at a cost of Rs 22 lakh,was thrown open to public at the CST,by CR general manager B B Modgil. It has,among other exhibits,replicas of drawings made by F W Stevens,the chief architect of the CST and rare photographs,historic stamps,weights,a clock,a bell and equipment,besides models of phased-out trains. “The museum is a journey from 1842 to 2010,” said CR DRM M C Chauhan.

Demolition drive hits slum resistance
Slumdwellers near Andheri RTO office on Friday afternoon pelted stones at an MMRDA team on a demolition drive. One man tried to set himself on fire and was detained by Amboli police. A police officer said,“Residents started throwing stones to prevent the demolition. A slum dweller tried to set himself ablaze and we arrested him to prevent self immolation.” No one was injured in the incident.
