After the special CBI court in Mumbai on Friday acquitted actor Sooraj Pancholi from charges of abetting actor Jiah Khan’s suicide, her mother Rabia said that she would be filing an appeal against the order and will continue to fight.

“My battle is still on, I will continue fighting. The judgment is not surprising, I had anticipated that this is not a case of abetment of suicide but murder,” Rabia told reporters outside the court after the verdict.

She said that she had been approaching courts stating that her daughter’s death is not a suicide but a murder and she will continue to appeal to courts.

The court said that there was no evidence to prove that Pancholi had abetted Khan’s suicide.

Rabia had approached various courts since 2013 claiming that a probe must be conducted on charges of murder. The CBI and the Juhu police, which conducted the probe before it was transferred, both said that no evidence was found to prove that Jiah was murdered.
