Get Over It

This is a disaster. The entire stretch of the bridge is going to be crammed. It took so many delays that I wasn’t sure whether the bridge would ever open. I hope everyone uses the bridge so that I can travel on the Mahim Causeway without traffic problems.

I’m just trying to get onto the bridge now but it looks like a far and distant dream. The entire stretch is jammed. Everything that has wheels and can move is on the bridge. We’ve packed lunch and champagne to celebrate this historical moment. I’m traveling in a car without a roof so if it starts raining,we might have to abandon the car and hail a cab.

I haven’t tried it yet and I have no intention of trying it. I am extremely disappointed. In fact, when you called,I was just recovering from the shock of it finally opening. The plain fact is that I don’t want people from the suburbs coming here. There are going to be more people, more cars, more mad honking. I hope enough politicians will stand on the bridge so that it will collapse.

I haven’t tried it yet but I’m definitely planning to. It sure looks pretty from outside. The traffic’s going to be crazy though especially at the Worli end. This will be like when the Indica first came out. Everybody had issues with it but ultimately it’s for the people. This will take the infrastructure to another level. We’re going to need many more bridges but this is a start.

My parents live in Prabhadevi so I’ve been looking forward to the bridge opening for a long time. I hope they can manage the bottleneck at Worli but they must have had a plan when they designed it. I can see the bridge from where I live in Bandra and it looks beautiful against the skyline. I’m definitely looking forward to trying it.

I think the bridge looks smashing. I’m planning to try it today. I should be there by 3 pm. It might be jam-packed but I’ll take my chances. My only issue with it is that it was unforgivingly expensive due to all the delays. Also,I don’t think the bridge was adequately planned. The traffic problems begin beyond Linking Road so the bridge ends where the problems begin. Someone living in Lokhandwala will save barely15 minutes.
