A fire broke out at the Singapore Airlines Cargo office pantry in the Sahar Airport cargo building on Sunday evening. Around 5.15 pm,four fire engines accompanied by four water tankers and two ambulances were rushed to the Santacruz Airport building to extinguish the flames.
The fire was brought under control within 15-20 minutes and no injuries have been reported. As it is an office area,only the furniture has been damaged. We will now investigate the cause of the fire, said V N Panigrahi,deputy fire officer at the Marol Fire Station. A spokesperson for Mumbai International Airport Limited added,There has been no damage to the cargo.
