Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday announced an inquiry by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into a “party” where gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s aide and 1993 Mumbai bomb blast accused Salim Kutta and Nashik Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sudhakar Badgujar allegedly are seen dancing together.

BJP MLA Nitesh Rane raised the issue through point of information, showing a “photo of Badgujar and Salim dancing at the party”. “I also have a video of this party. Salim Kutta is out on parole and partying with Uddhav Thackeray’s party leader. Action should be taken against him,” Rane said.

Badgujar, addressing a press conference in Nashik, claimed the allegations were levelled against him without obtaining proper information. “We could have met at a public place or the video could also be morphed. If at all the police calls me, I will fully cooperate with the police,” Badgujar said.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Sachin Ahir said such allegations are levelled for the sake of ‘breaking news’. “If Rane has any evidence against anyone, then he should hand it over to the Home minister,” he said.
