The union minister for civil aviation and steel Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday said under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the long cherished dream of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtra Bharat’ has become a reality.
The union minister made these observations speaking at Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Award function organised by the Lokmat Group in NSCI, Worli Mumbai on Wednesday evening.
Scandia who spoke in Marathi language said, ” Maharashtra is a state which contributes 15 per cent to the country’s GDP.” It has a long and illustrious history of sacrifice, valour and reforms. From great warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to social reformers Jyotiba Phule this is a land which has made immense contribution in shaping the destiny of nation.
Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year (LMOTY) is the non-entertainment event. The awards are specially designed to honor people who excel in politics, administration, social service, arts, sports and entertainment as well as to celebrate their accomplishments.
Earlier, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Raj Thackeray was interviewed by Amruta Fadnavis wife of deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. Along with her NCP ( MP) Amol Kolhe also jointly interviewed MNS leader on the occasion.
Amruta Fadnavis wondered whether Bal Thackeray party would have taken a different turn had Raj Thackeray held reins. To which Raj Thackeray quipped, ” Its closed chaper for me. I have formed my own party. My concerns are confined to my party.” Commenting to Kolhe’s question on how he handles media which always keeps the spotlight on him, Thackeray said, ” I don’t do anything. I just speak what I feel.”
