Eight-month target set for Mantralaya renovation

The Maharashtra government has set an eight-month target for renovating the Mantralaya building,the top three floors of which were were gutted in a massive fire on June 21.

The Maharashtra government has set an eight-month target for renovating the Mantralaya building,the top three floors of which were were gutted in a massive fire on June 21. It has floated a Rs 110-crore tender for request for qualification (RFQ) for additions and alterations to the main building.

The tender issued by the public works department has called for RFQs from a public limited company engaged in construction activity for at least 15 years. The bids have to be submitted by Monday,September 3. The work has to be completed in eight months — first four of which have to be for work on the top three floors and the rest for work on the lower floors.

The bidder is expected to have a annual construction turnover of at least Rs 1,000 crore in the last three years till March 2012. The company has to provide evidence of having successfully completed during the last five years one “composite multidisciplinary building” contract of not less than Rs 100 crore and two buildings contracts of not less than Rs 50 crore.
