The Sridevi-starrer English Vinglish and Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children are going to have their world premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Sridevi-starrer English Vinglish and Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children are going to have their world premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The 37th edition of the festival will take place from September 6-16. English Vinglish, with which Sridevi makes her big screen comeback after 15 years,is a story about an Indian woman who struggles to learn the English language to please her husband and family. It is directed by Gauri Shinde, wife of director R Balki who is also one of the producers of the film. It’s going to be screened in the non-competitive Galas section of the festival along with Mehta’s Midnight’s Children, based on Salman Rushdie’s Booker-winning novel of the same name. Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist, that premieres at the Venice Film Festival, will also travel to Toronto.
