After Australian cricketer Brett Lee complained against a trio for alleged non-payment of dues worth Rs 10 lakh through his representatives in India, the Metropolitan Magistrates Court in Ballard Pier court on Tuesday directed the MRA Marg police to investigate the case under Section 156 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) 1973 and submit their report within three months. The alleged non-payment of dues had taken place in May last year when Lee and his band, the M-Majors had performed at a leading mall in Mumbai’s Malad area. According to Lee’s representatives, the Australian cricketer was promised the amount one week after the event took place. “After initially promising him the amount, they backed out saying their sponsors had backed, three days before the event. Why was this not shared with us? Brett would not have performed then,” said Samir Phadnis,COO Next Level Media Communications Pvt Ltd.
