The Borivali Government Railway Police officers are on the lookout for two more men who were allegedly involved in the acid attack on a 22-year-old woman at Goregaon railway station.

They had on February 1 arrested a youth in connection with the incident.

The police had on Friday arrested Manju Sheikh, mother of arrested accused Nasir Sheikh alias Pintu, who is suspected to be the main conspirator in the case.

“Besides Manju, two friends of Pintu are also involved. A probe is on,” said senior police inspector PM Karyakarte.

The police added the victim,Aarti Thakur, had seen her attacker’s face at Goregaon station and that the man was not Pintu.

“We suspect Pintu and Manju had hired two of Pintu’s friends for the act,as well as for attacks on Thakur on two previous occasions as well,” added Karyakarte.

The victim, who got engaged recently,is a resident of Nalasopara and works for an IT company in Goregaon. Four days ago,Thakur was returning home when the accused allegedly attacked her by throwing acid on her body and fled. The attack took place near the booking office on platform number one at Goregaon railway station, when Thakur was punching coupons while talking on the phone.
