Polygraph test also done on Tikku-Kakkad murder suspect to crack mystery of third murder
Forensic experts on Thursday conducted a brain mapping test on Vijay Palande accused in three murder cases including that of Arun Tikku and aspiring film-producer Karan Kakkad hoping to throw some light on the third murder.
Mumbai Police Crime Branch officers investigating the third murder Palande and his accomplice Dhananjay Shinde are suspects had given doctors and forensic experts a set of 25 questions to ask Palande. According to the Crime Branch,he was also subjected to a polygraph test.
Crime Branch officers are not sure they would conduct a narco-analysis test on Palande on Friday,when his police custody is set to end. We can conduct the narco test even if the accused is in judicial custody, said a police officer.
On Thursday,Palande was taken to the forensic sciences laboratory (FSL) in Kalina for a brain-mapping test. We will submit the results to court. These tests will help in further investigations to find the identity of the third man killed by Palande, the officer added.
Crime branch had last Wednesday obtained permission to carry out narco-analysis on Palande and Shinde to find out the identity the third victim whose skull was found at Kumbharli Ghat near Chiplun. The two accused were allegedly involved in the third murder,too.
Police officers had waited until Tuesday to carry out tests as they wanted time to prepare the questionnaire.
A few months ago,after the arrest of the duo,police had recovered the skull of an unidentified man from Chiplun. The two accused said the skull was Kakkads but DNA tests did not match. Police officers had hoped that narco-analysis could help them to get some clues.
