Constable succumbs to injuries

A woman constable,who was hit by a truck on Tuesday,succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday morning.

A woman constable,who was hit by a truck on Tuesday,succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday morning. The constable—Saziya Tambe (30)—was posted at the Nehru Nagar police station in Kurla (West). She was riding a Honda Activa when a speeding truck rammed into her from behind on the Sion-Panvel Highway near the Sion flyover.

The officers investigating the case said Tambe was rushed to Sion Hospital in a critical condition.

“Though the doctors had said her condition was improving,it became critical and she died early on Wednesday. The driver of the truck,Sirajuddin Khan,who escaped after the accident was later nabbed,” said an officer from the Sion police station.
