India’s World Cup win,in a way,helped a farmer hailing from Rajasthan. Noticing his 17-year-old lost son cheering Team India in a newspaper photograph on April 6,Kanaram Jaat came to Mumbai in search of him. According to Jaat,Ajay had left his home in June 2010 to never return. Jaat said Ajay could have run off to become a cricketer.

3 houses of a colony robbed

Three houses of a Lalbaug colony were robbed on Friday. Kalachowkie police said they had warned society members in Abhyudaya Nagar to hire a security agency or watchmen. “The locks and latches of three flats on the second and third floors of building number 8 were broken,” said Sunil Satpal Jain,senior police inspector of Kalachowkie police .

“The owners of the flats were not present in their houses when the robbery took place. Valuables worth Rs 76,000 were stolen,” said Jain.

Normal water supply today

The 30 per cent water cut, imposed on Friday following pipe bursts,will be rolled back by Saturday afternoon. “The work on fixing the pipeline damaged at Chinchavli was completed on Friday evening while the work on the pipeline at Bhiwandi is likely to be over by Friday night,” an official from the maintenance department said. “In all likelihood the work will be completed by Friday evening and regular water supply to city will be resumed,” said hydraulic engineer Ramesh Bamble.ens
