Body of missing Bandra youth found in decomposed state

The decomposed body of a 19-year-old was found in a bungalow near Lilavati Hospital in Bandra Reclamation on Monday night.

The decomposed body of a 19-year-old was found in a bungalow near Lilavati Hospital in Bandra Reclamation on Monday night. A Bandra resident,the victim was identified as Munir Khan who had been missing for the past three days. The police are now trying to determine whether he was murdered.

According to the Bandra police,Khan,who works as an AC mechanic,was found dead in the meter room of bungalow 16 at Bandra Reclamation.

The investigating officers said they received a call from locals around 9.30 pm on Monday complaining about foul odour emanating from the meter room of the bungalow. The watchman discovered the body and informed the owner of the bungalow,said the police. The body has been sent for a postmortem. “The body was so decomposed that it was difficult to ascertain whether it bore any injury marks,” said PI S Patil from the Bandra police station.

“Khan’s body was lying face down with his clothes intact indicating absence of struggle. The face was disfigured due to decomposition that happened over the past three days,” added Patil. Patil added that Khan was missing since Saturday and his brother had filed a missing person’s complaint with the police.

“We are in the process of recording the statements of Khan’s brother and neighbours to find out about his activities before he went missing on Saturday. We will also investigate whether the locals saw someone or heard any noises from the spot between Saturday night and Monday night,” said Patil.
