The BMC on Tuesday said three municipal wards in the eastern suburbs will experience water cuts for 24 hours between Friday and Saturday.

Civic authorities said that owing to the ongoing construction of the Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR), the BMC is diverting an existing 1,200mm pipeline that is currently located in T-ward (Mulund). The BMC authorities said that besides T ward, water supply to the S (Kanjurmarg, Vikhroli) and N (Ghatkopar) wards will also be affected.

“The diversion of the pipeline is important as it currently lies at a spot where a foundation for a flyover of the proposed GMLR corridor will be created. In the process, the connection from the main supply network will be disconnected to prevent any water loss. The work will be initiated around 11.30am on Friday and we plan to complete it by 11.30am next day,” said a civic official.
