BEST announces new bus routes and service changes effective on November 1

Among the new services introduced is route A-101, which will operate between the World Trade Center and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. It connects key city points, including G D Somani Road, President Hotel, Colaba, Hutatma Rajguru Chowk, and Madame Cama Road, operating six days a week from Monday to Saturday. The return journey will cover Hutatma Chowk, Veer Nariman Road, Churchgate, and other major landmarks. This addition aims to provide improved connectivity in south Mumbai.

BEST has also restructured multiple existing routes. For example, route A-1 between Electric House and Colaba Depot will now terminate at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), operating between CSMT and Santacruz Depot only. Route A-6 will operate between Backbay Depot and Tata Power Station with revised timings and paths. Several other routes, such as A-44, A-47, A-48, and A-49, have also been modified by shortening route lengths or changing terminals.

There are also cancellations, such as the suspension of certain service segments in route A-79 and the withdrawal of extension for route A-216 beyond Kanjurmarg.

BEST is upgrading some routes to air-conditioned service to improve comfort. Routes A-207 from Malvani to Dahisar, A-211 from Bandra to Father Agnel Ashram, and A-410 from Vikhroli Depot to Mahakali Caves are among those included in this upgrade.

Commenting about the changes, a BEST official said, “These measures are designed to streamline operations, reduce redundancy, and enhance passenger comfort. Our aim is to provide more efficient, reliable, and comfortable public transportation to the citizens of Mumbai.”
