Badlapur rape suspect remanded in police custody

Sandeep Karve,the 26-year-old school bus cleaner arrested for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl on September 6 in Badlapur,was produced before a holiday court Sunday and remanded in police custody for eight days,police said.

Karve was arrested Saturday after a medical examination showed victim had been sexually assaulted.

“We are yet to interrogate him. DNA samples of Karve and the victim have been sent have been sent to Kalina Forensic Sciences Laboratory for analysis,” said senior inspector Dilip Patil.
