Shah will also deliver a keynote address at the landmark five-day event, which will run until October 31, as India emerges as a global maritime leader.Union Home Minister Amit Shah will perform the bhoomi pujan for the new Maharashtra BJP office building at Churchgate in Mumbai on Monday. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP president Ravindra Chavan along with other ministers and office bearers of the party will attend the ceremony. The multi-storied office building will be on the lines of BJP’s party headquarters in New Delhi.
“As per the plan, the new building will come up on the plot at Churchgate. It will be technologically advanced, spacious and equipped with requirements needed for the party’s expansion,” a BJP source said.
The new building will have various security features with use of biometric technology. Shah will visit Mumbai to inaugurate India Maritime Week 2025 at the NESCO exhibition centre at Goregaon in Mumbai on Monday.

The event is organised by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) in collaboration with the Indian Ports Association (IPA). It aims to strengthen and showcase the country’s maritime power.
It will attract top industry leaders, policymakers, investors, innovators, and international stakeholders to discuss sustainable maritime growth, trade expansion, and the development of India’s “blue economy”, according to the statement.
During the inaugural session, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of State Shantanu Thakur, and chief ministers of key coastal states—Devendra Fadnavis (Maharashtra), Bhupendra Patel (Gujarat), Pramod Sawant (Goa), and Mohan Charan Majhi (Odisha)—will be present. The Union Minister will arrive in Mumbai late Sunday night, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will receive him.
