Ajit Pawar skips visit to RSS headquarters, only one from NCP joins Mahayuti MLAs
Despite having joined an alliance with the BJP, Ajit Pawar has been constantly claiming that he has not given up on the ideology of Shivaji Maharaj, Phule and Ambedkar.

Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Ajit Pawar on Thursday skipped the visit to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur, where all MLAs of the ruling alliance where invited to by the BJP.
Even from NCP, only one MLA — Raju Karemore — reached the headquarters, while all the MLAs from the BJP and Eknath Shinde -led Shiv Sena were present there.
“We were invited by the BJP to visit the headquarters. I went there today morning. I don’t know about others from my party,” Raju Karemore said.
Ajit Pawar had not gone to the RSS headquarters last year as well, after joining the Eknath Shinde -led state government after rebelling against his uncle Sharad Pawar.
Despite having joined an alliance with the BJP, Ajit Pawar has been constantly claiming that he has not given up on the ideology of Shivaji Maharaj, Phule and Ambedkar.
The NCP leader had also stated that his party will not compromise on its “secular ideology”.
When asked about the Hindutva ideology of the RSS, Raju Karemore said, “I respect all religions… we go to offer prayers to gods and saints. In a similar way I have come here.”
A senior minister from the NCP said that the party has neither asked its MLAs to go nor stopped them from going.
“The BJP had sent an invitation to all MLAs of the ruling alliance… Those who wanted to go were free to go,” the minister said.
