THE ANTI-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday sent a notice to family members of Rajan Salvi, a leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction, asking them to appear before it on March 20. In December, Salvi himself had received a notice from ACB in connection with a case of alleged disproportionate assets.
Talking to mediapersons, Salvi said, “My wife, elder brother and sister-in-law have received a notice from ACB today asking them to appear before its Alibaug office on March 20 for questioning. This is unfortunate as we are being targeted since we are supporting Uddhav Thackeray. Whoever switches to their side is automatically cleared of all charges.”
Sources said since the notice was issued to Salvi in December, he has appeared three times before the ACB. The ACB had also asked the public works department to take measurements of his bungalow and a restaurant he has in Ratnagiri in connection with its probe. Salvi’s personal assistant was also questioned by the ACB.
Apart from summoning Salvi, who is an MLA from Rajapur, the ACB had also sent a notice to Kudal MLA Vaibhav Naik, who is also a leader of the Thackeray faction. The notices were sent in connection with cases of alleged disproportionate assets.
