80-year-old arrested for killing his son in Dadar

A team was sent to the spot following which the person, identified as Anwar Kale, was admitted in the hospital. Subsequently, his father Yuvraj Kale arrived at the police station and alleged that his son was stabbed by an unknown person.

Accordingly a case was registered at Dadar police station.

However early on Monday, Anwar succumbed to his injuries after which relevant sections of murder were added to the FIR. “As we started probing, we went through the CCTV footage and also reached out to the eyewitness following which it came to light that it was the father who had stabbed him twice that caused his death,” an officer said.

The police later took Yuvraj in custody, who during the course of the interrogation confessed to the crime and revealed that his son, who is mentally disturbed, had run away from home around two months ago.

“He has similarly left the house in the past. On Friday, Yuvraj got information that Anwar was in Dadar after which he came to Mumbai to take him home and on Sunday, he allegedly stabbed him after he stole cash from his bag,” an officer added.
