4-year-old molested by great grandfather

RAK Marg police said the incident occurred on August 15,when the victim had gone to the residence of the accused in Sewree. Her great-grandfather allegedly molested her while everyone was asleep.

“When the victim returned home,her mother noticed she was bleeding from her private parts. She admitted the victim to Sion Hospital. She was initially reluctant to register a complaint. Hospital authorities informed us as they are bound to do so by law. We recorded the victim’s statement,got her medical reports and registered a case,after which we arrested the accused,” said an officer.

A probe revealed the victim’s grandmother had learned about the incident but had not reported it. “She washed the victim’s blood-stained clothes,thus abetting the crime. Both accused have been remanded in police custody till August 20,” said ACP Ravindra Khandagle.
