Three months after his wedding, 30-year-old man attacks woman, her daughter in Mumbai, later kills self

The woman and her daughter are out of danger, said the police. An FIR on charges of attempt to murder has been registered against Nishad based on the woman’s initial statement.

An officer said Wednesday, Nishad entered the Nehru Nagar residence of the woman and locked the door from inside. The accused then attacked the woman and her daughter with a knife.

The woman somehow managed to flee along with her daughter and in the meantime, Nishad stabbed himself at the woman’s residence.

The locals informed the Nehru Nagar police station and subsequently, a team rushed to the spot and took Nishad to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. The injured woman and the minor girl were admitted to a hospital for treatment.

An officer said that the woman and Nishad were known to each other and she had also gone to Uttar Pradesh to attend his wedding a few months back.

“We suspect they were in a relationship. However, they had a fight two months back and stopped talking to each other,” said an officer.
