15-year-old rescued from prostitution racket, 1 held

A 15-year-old girl rescued from a prostitution racket has been sent to the children’s home in Dongri, from where she fled two months ago.

The victim and her mother had approached the Malwani police Tuesday alleging she had been forced into prostitution. On Wednesday, the police arrested Satyanarayan Dayal (48) and are currently tracing four others, including two women, who allegedly forced the girl into the prostitution. Dayal also allegedly raped the girl.

As the case has to be heard by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), the police sent the victim back to the Dongri children’s home, even though she wanted to stay with her parents this time. “We will produce her before the CWC and then send her back to her family ,” said senior police inspector Abdul Rauf Sheikh of Malwani police station.

According to police, the girl eloped with her boyfriend from her Malwani home in December 2013. The duo were traced within a week. While her boyfriend was booked for kidnapping and rape, the girl was sent to the Dongri remand home as she refused to go back home. After spending 10 days there, she escaped along with her room mate and contacted a friend in Malwani, who invited her to stay with her.

The girl has alleged that her friend’s mother, Parveen, shot a video of her taking bath and blackmailed and forced her into prostitution.

“A month ago, Parveen sent the girl to Dayal, who raped her and later sent her to other customers. Parveen then sent her to Bangalore, where the girl was again forced into the prostitution racket,” said a police officer from Malwani police station. The girl finally managed to flee and reached Mumbai last week, after which she narrated her ordeal to her mother.
