10-year jail term for raping two minors

A sessions court on Friday sentenced 42-year-old Rekha Lamb (he behaved like a eunuch but medically is not proved to be one in the court) to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for raping two minor girls and his associate Sarfaraj Siddiqui to seven years rigorous imprisonment under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

A sessions court on Friday sentenced 42-year-old Rekha Lamb (he behaved like a eunuch but medically is not proved to be one in the court) to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for raping two minor girls and his associate Sarfaraj Siddiqui to seven years rigorous imprisonment under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

According to public prosecutor Usha Kiran Makasare,the Trombay police raided Lambs residence at Cheetah in Chembur on February 16,2006 after getting a complaint from his neighbour.

During the raid,the police found Siddiqui and Lamb sexually exploiting two minor girls.

Makasare said that the girls had deposed before the court that they were attracted to Lambs house as he had a big television set and that they used to visit his house frequently. The girls also told the court that they were shown a pornographic film and raped by Lamb.

Lamb then started getting customers and sold the girls. Lamb also threatened the girls that they would be killed if they complained to their parents.

As per their testimony,the girls received Rs 30 for sleeping with Lamb and Rs 100 for sleeping with any of his customers. According to the girls,Lamb used to get Rs 5000 from customers. Lamb continued to exploit the girls for three to four months before landing in the police net.

Makasare examined nine witnesses in the case.
