An employee of Stan Autos was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the service station near Sherpur chowk on Thursday morning.
Thakur Dyal Tewari,the deceased,is said to be a migrant from Uttar Pradesh. He was living in Fauji Colony near Sherpur area and used to wash cars at the service station.
Sources said Tewaris body was found near a surface water tank in the workshop when his co-workers came to work in the morning. It seems Tewari somehow remained inside the service station last evening when it shut for the day.
Police sources said it appeared to be a mysterious death as there were no external injury marks on the body. The viscera of the deceased will be sent for a chemical examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile,the deceaseds son,Ravi Ranjan Tewari,told the police that his father had no enmity with anyone. Inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) have been initiated in the case for now. Police officers added an appropriate case would be registered in case any foul play is suspected.

Wife of victim arrested,police say case cracked
With the arrest of the wife of one of the victims in connection with the murder of two property dealers,who were allegedly shot dead in Mundian Kalan village on the night of July 11,the police claimed to have cracked the case. The police announced on Wednesday that the case stands solved with the arrest of Preeti,wife of Vijay alias Rajesh Sharma. She is in police remand till Friday. According to the police,Preeti and her paramour Bittu,a resident of Karnal,murdered her husband and his friend Naresh Kumar who was living with the couple.
After the murder,Preeti had told the police that she did not know the two acquaintances who had allegedly shot the duo dead and fled the spot. Sources said thorough questioning led the police to solve the case.
The police investigation concluded that Preeti and Bittu were involved in a relationship and her deceased husband Vijay and Bittu knew each other and both had a criminal background. They both were natives of Haryana.
Police sources said Preeti had confessed during interrogation that she and Bittu had hatched a conspiracy to kill Vijay so that they could get married. The police was initially suspecting a property dispute as the motive of the murders.
