Two held for murder

A thirty-year-old man was reportedly stabbed to death near the Bapu Asaram Ashram on the southern bypass on Friday evening. The deceased was identified as Pritpal Singh. Two men — Gurpreet Singh and Jagmohan Singh,both residents of Khanpur village — have been arrested. According to the police,Pritpal had misbehaved with Gurpreet’s sister at a wedding a month ago and Gurpreet wanted to avenge the incident. In another incident,the body of a 42-year-old man was found on Churpur road on Friday morning. The person had been attacked with a sharp-edged weapon on the neck and had died from the wounds.
