Two food samples fail test,action likely soon

Collected in June by the district health department,two samples failed safety test on Monday.

According to a report issued by District Health Officer Dr Abnash Kumar,samples of “aam papad” and “sweet chamcham” have failed the test.

While the “aam papad” collected from a shop near Bharat Nagar Chowk has been found to be misbranded,the “chamcham” collected from a shop in Haibowal has been found to be adulterated with non-permitted pink shade. It is unfit for consumption as per the report. The DHO said action would be taken under the Food Safety Act.
