To organise public meeting at GLADA ground today
The first conference of the Textile Mazdoor Union (TMU) commenced today at Abdullapur basti. Nearly 200 delegates took part in this meeting. At the conference,the members discussed on the issues of working hours of workers in factories.
In the presence of representatives from different factories,a report on the economic and political conditions in the country and world was presented and after the discussion on the report, the union decided to get the agreements done about textile workers in Ludhiana implemented,said Rajwinder Singh,convenor of TMU.
He informed that the membership of the union has crossed 2,200. The union members also stated that workers of Maruti Suzuki in Manesar should be given justice and the culprits should be booked.
Rajwinder said that like in other parts of the country,the conditions of workers in Ludhiana are worse than the worst. The textile and hosiery workers of Ludhiana do too much hard work on meagre wages,he pointed out.
Vishavnath,Vishal,Gopal,Heera Mann,Taj Mohammad,Ghanshyam,Premnath and several others spoke on the occasion.
On Sunday a large public meeting will be held at the GLADA ground. It will be attended by all members of the union and other workers too.
The steering committee has appealed to all members of the union and other workers to participate with enthusiasm.
