Tewari, who is also a national spokesperson of the party articulated the UPA policies and programmes in a lucid and brilliant manner drawing wide applause from the colleagues.

Tewari said keeping in tune with the secular traditions of the country, the Congress-led UPA government created a congenial atmosphere of communal harmony, brotherhood and trust between people as opposed to the divide and rule policy of the NDA,which was marked by the incidents like those in Gujarat.

Summing up his speech,he remarked the UPA had ushered in an epoch of “rejuvenated democracy” where in everybody had been made to participate in the democratic process without any fear.
