Sports bodies want Art of Living course shifted from Guru Nanak Stadium

The Joint Action Committee of various sports organisations today held a meeting and asked the organisers of Art of Living to shift the venue of a 3-day self-development course from the Guru Nanak Stadium to some other place. The representatives stated that sports stadiums are not meant for such progrrames and,hence,they should look for some other venue.

Sri Sri Ravi Shanker will be coming to Ludhiana to conduct a self-development workshop from November 7 to 10 and Guru Nanak stadium will be the venue. Teja Singh Dhaliwal,general secretary of the Punjab Basketball Association,said that in the past as well,“we have objected to such programmes in stadium. The stadium gets damaged and also only sports activities should be allowed in stadiums.”

The joint action committee has given 15 days to the organisers to change their venue or they will start a protest. The organisers have sought permission from the sports department,Chandigarh,to use this venue for their self development course.
