To give a boost to business,Ludhiana entrepreneurs are leaving no chance even to encash it on voting day as well. Hot breads, the famous bakery in Sarabha Nagar, has done the same. The owner has announced that anyone who will show the ink mark in his bakery after casting his vote will be given a 10 per cent discount on all items.
It is no doubt a good way to encourage voting but at the same time,it is a good marketing tactic as well. The bakery shop is in the Ludhiana West constituency, where the majority of urban voters reside. The poll percentage has always been less than 60 per cent in this area. So to give a boost to the voters to come out of their houses, the baker has taken a new initiative.
Yellow Chillies,a restaurant in the same market, too will be giving a 10 per cent discount on Monday if one goes to have meals after showing the ink mark. The message has been uploaded by H S Kukreja, the owner of the bakery shop,on facebook as well to catch more attention.
Not only this. Even Dr R S Thind,a dentist with clinics at Dugri and Jamalpur, has uploaded a message on facebook saying,Get one weeks free consultation if you show the ink mark after casting your vote.
Dr Thind told Newsline,The ink mark will remain for one week. So I have given that time. Claiming that this is not a gimmick to add business. Dr Thind said,I am trying to make voters realise that it is their duty to vote. Perhaps with this allurement, they will turn out of their houses and bring a change, rather than complain later on.
He added,Urban voters hardly go out to vote,so I think special offers need to be given to them for voting as well.
