Security beefed up at rly station after LeT threat

Security was beefed up at Ludhiana railway station after threats were received from Lashkar-e-Toiba claiming bomb blasts at Amritsar,Ludhiana and Jalalndhar railway stations.

Security was beefed up at Ludhiana railway station after threats were received from Lashkar-e-Toiba claiming bomb blasts at Amritsar,Ludhiana and Jalalndhar railway stations. The threat letter was received by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM),Ferozepur division,Vishlesh Choube.

Railway police force and government railway police started thorough checking of the station from Tuesday night and all seven platforms have witnessed heavy deployment of police force with throough checking of luggage and movement of people.

CCTV footage,installed at platform number 1,was also reviewed to check irregular and suspicious movements.

“We received information regarding the letter sent to Feroezpur Division from LeT on Tuesday night. Alerts were sent out immediately to all security authorities,” said Yashwant Singh,RPF commandant.
