SAD vs SAD: SAD MLA comes in favour of Independent councillor

Supporting councillor of ward number 8 Daljit Singh Bhola,SAD MLA (Atam Park) Simarjit Singh Bains on Monday met Police Commissioner P S Gill. This happened a day after two groups belonging to Bhola and SAD MLA (Ludhiana East) Ranjit Singh Dhillon clashed over inauguration of a Rs 32-lakh road project in New Shakti Nagar.

Reportedly,it was with the help and support of Bains only that Bhola was able to win MC elections after he defected from SAD post-ticket denial from the party.

However,the Basti Jodhewal police produced councillor Daljit Singh Grewal and his accomplice Independent councillor Gurpreet Singh Gora before the court on Monday. The court remanded them in two-day police custody.

The police also booked Daljit’s brother Kulwinder Singh,Jagmel Singh,Abbas Mohammad,Dalwinder Singh,Jagpal Singh,Sukhmel Singh,Jagjit Singh,Monu,Sangat Singhm Ranjit Singh,Jassa Singh and Gurcharan Singh in the case. The police are yet to arrest all other accused. The case has been registered following a complaint filed by Teja Singh Khalsa of Mohalla Indira Puri.

Supporters of councillor Bhola gathered and protested in Basti Jodhewal area on Monday and went upto the Police Commissioner’s office,raising slogans against MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon.
