Prof Sobti to take over as V-C of DAV University

In less than a month after the end of his tenure as Panjab University Vice-Chancellor,Prof R C Sobti has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of DAV University in Jalandhar. The decision was taken at a meeting of the DAV College Managing Committee in New Delhi on Sunday.

Confirming the development,Vijay Sabharwal,secretary of the DAV College Managing Committee,said the committee had decided to appoint Prof Sobti as the Vice-Chancellor of the DAV University. The Punjab government recently gave the institute university status. He added that since Prof Sobti was out of the country,he would be handed over the appointment letter on his return.

Prof Sobti took over as V-C of the Panjab University in 2006. He served the varsity as V-C for two terms.
