Polls held for cycle body posts

Though the members of United cycles parts and manufacturers association had elected Gurmeet Singh Kular as their president unanimously,elections were held for five other posts today.

Though the members of United cycles parts and manufacturers association (UCPMA) had elected Gurmeet Singh Kular as their president unanimously,elections were held for five other posts today. Around 1,500 votes were cast out of the eligible 2,200 voters. The other two who were elected unanimously were: Baljit Singh Lotte as joint secretary and Inderjit Singh Navyug as senior vice-president. Incumbent president D S Chawla who had earlier been contesting for the the president’s post this time as well,withdrew his name in protest and resigned from the association after members of the Vishvkarma (opposite) group said if Chawla withdrew from the race,they will not contest the polls. Elections were held between Harjit Singh Sondh from Kular group and Ved Parkash for the post of vice-president while Surinder Singh was pitted against Ravi Dhawan for the general secretary post. Vijay Kumar Gupta and Pardeep Wadhawan contested for secretary’s post while HL Kharbanda and Ashru Ram Gupta for finance secretary’s post.
