An RTI application filed by city resident Kuldeep Singh Khera has brought out that the Ludhiana MC has no order copies for allotment of Innova car to Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria.
In the RTI reply dated August 22,Ludhiana Newsline has a copy of it,the MC has clearly stated that per orders,an Ambassador car and a pilot Gypsy have been allotted to the Mayor and there are no documents regarding allotment of Innova to Mayor.
The reply has been sent from the workshop branch of the Ludhiana MC signed by XEN Rajinder Singh.
Despite repeated requests,LMC failed to provide me with documents of orders for allotment of Innova, said Khera.
Textile protest enters third day
LUDHIANA: The strike of textile units entered day three on Sunday. A total of 32 textile units had started the strike. While one unit called off strike after a compromise with the owner,four more units have joined the strike. The workers are demanding salary hike by 30%,bonus and implementation of labour laws. The workers of 70 units had given memorandums to the labour office.
Strike by NRHM workers today
LUDHIANA: The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) workers will observe a two-day pen-down strike on October 7 and 8. Paramedical,medical and clerical staff of NRHM will be on strike. Avtar Singh Mansa,president of NRHM Workers Union,said as the government was not listening to their genuine demands,they decided to take this step.
PWD minister lays foundation stone
LUDHIANA: PWD Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon on Sunday laid the foundation stone of a sewerage project worth Rs 8 crore in Dhandari,Mangli Neechi,Gobindgarh and Mundian Kalan. The tender has been allotted to contractor Joginder Singh and the project will be completed in March 2014.
