Members of Maha Sabha staged a protest dharna outside DC office against property tax on Tuesday. The members said that the common man was being troubled through this tax and specially the poor who have small houses of 50 square yard. Col J S Brar,president of this Sabha,said while the tax had been slashed on commercial properties,the residential properties had been included. This way,the government was troubling the poor and passing on the benefit to the rich. They appealed to the masses not to give this tax and fight against the government. Later,the members also submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal,which was to be given to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
