Ludhiana: E-bids opened for five parking lots in city; e-ticketing to stop overcharging

To stop overcharging by contractors, MC is going to introduce e-ticketing now and receipts would be issued to residents through electronic machine.

The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation on Thursday received the financial bids worth Rs 1.48 crore for the five parking lots including Ferozepur road, Feroze Gandhi Market, multilevel parking Zone A, Sarabha Nagar main market and I block market.

To stop overcharging by contractors, MC is going to introduce e-ticketing now and receipts would be issued to residents through electronic machine.

The parking rate of two-wheeler will be Rs 5 per day while Rs 10 will be charged for four wheelers at the parking lots except on Ferozepur Road where the fee would increase on hourly basis.

Bid of Rs 70 lakh was the highest against reserved price of Rs 50 lakh for Ferozepur road lot.

The highest bid for Feroze Gandhi market was Rs 29 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 20 lakh.

The reserve price for parking lot of Sarabha Nagar was Rs 10 lakh and successful bid was of 19.50 lakh. The reserve price for I block market was Rs 1 lakh and the highest bid was Rs 2.25 lakh.

The highest bid for multilevel parking lot near Zone A office was Rs 27.50 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 20 lakh.

Bids have been sent for final approval to higher authorities, said Harvinder Singh MC superintendent.
