Patient seeks help
Accident victim Ranjit Singh,a 32-year-old resident of Tajpur village,is undergoing treatment in the neurosurgery ICU at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital. He was admitted since April 13. According to a hospital release,“Ranjit is the only earning member of his family. He has a wife and two children to look after. The family has exhausted all resources for his treatment and is making a fervent appeal to people to lend monetary help to the patient’s family.” All those willing to donate for this noble cause can contact 9872074563. Prize distribution function at college
The Ludhiana College of Engineering and Technology organised a prize distribution function on Thursday. Rajat Aggarwal,chairman,Punjab Pollution Control Board,Patiala,was the chief guest on the occasion. As many as 171 trophies were given to meritorious students,69 medals for sports and 15 for extracurricular activities. A cultural programme mesmerised audiences.

Standard Chartered joins hands with Punarjot Eye Bank
Matthew Norris,CIO,Standard Chartered Bank (India and South Asia) visited the premises of Punarjot Eye Bank Society along with Arjun Chib,regional head,and other senior officials on Thursday. Matthew gave details of the project ‘Seeing Is Believing’ started by the bank. He assured to extend all possible help to eradicate blindness. Dr Gurdial Singh Gora,Satwant Singh Gill and Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria were honoured for extending help to the Society to hold free eye check-up camps in rural and slum areas.

CIPHET transfers technology of green chilli powder
The Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an Indore-based entrepreneur,Ashok Khasgiwala,for transferring the technology of green chilli powder and puree. Speaking on the occasion,CIPHET Director Dr R T Patil said there was lot of scope in processing green chilli into powder/puree and entrepreneurs would not face much problem in marketing the products.
