Ectopia: 2005 batch bags overall trophy

The under-graduate medical students of 2005 batch of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital were declared overall winner of the three-day colourful cultural festival Ectopia-2010 which concluded at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital on Thursday evening.

The under-graduate medical students of 2005 batch of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital were declared overall winner of the three-day colourful cultural festival Ectopia-2010 which concluded at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMC&H) on Thursday evening.

Out of five batches of under-graduate medical students,2005 batch secured the maximum score of 325 for their excellent performance in various cultural activities. Batch 2008 was declared second and Batch 2006 was declared third. With this,the three-day cultural extravaganza came to an end with glittering prize distribution ceremony.

The winners of different competitions were honoured by the Chief Guest,A.K. Sinha,Commissioner,Municipal Corporation,Ludhiana,along with the Secretary of DMCH Managing Society,Prem Kumar Gupta and the Principal of DMCH,Dr Daljit Singh.

In his address,Medical Superintendent and Chairperson of DMCH Cultural Committee,Dr Sandeep Puri appreciated the enthusiasm of the students.

Rishu Baweja of batch 2009 was declared Mr. Ectopia and the title of Ms Ectopia was shared by Suhasini of batch 2005 and Madhurima of batch 2008. Vainy of batch 2006 was declared the best actor in female category and Ajay Singh of batch 2007 was declared best actor in male category.

The major crowd-puller of the evening was the group dance contest. Dressed in chick-attire,the medical students left the audience spell-bound with their electrifying performance based on foot-tapping folk and Bollywood numbers. The batch 2007 secured first prize while batch 2007 and batch 2009 were declared second and third for their rhythmic dance performances.
